1. Accessing the ballot section:

  • After creating an election, navigate to Ballot from the side menu or go to Manage Election -> Edit Ballot.

2. Setting up the ballot:

  • Start by adding a ballot title and description.
  • Use the drag-and-drop interface to add elements to your ballot. You can choose from three types of ballot elements: Plurality Voting, Ranked Voting, and Polls.
    • Plurality Vote
      • This is the traditional first-past-the-post voting method, where voters select a single candidate, and the candidate with the most votes wins.
      • Commonly used in single-seat elections, it’s simple and straightforward.
    • Ranked Choice Voting:
      • Allows voters to rank candidates in order of preference.
      • To change the vote-counting method, click on the question body to bring up the element settings on the right-hand side. Choose between STV with Redistribution or Surplus and Regular STV from the drop-down menu.
    • Poll Question:
      • Polls provide insights into public opinion on various topics. They can be open-ended or multiple-choice, useful for gauging sentiment or preferences.

3. Customizing the Ballot:

  • Add as many elements as you need to your ballot.
  • Customize each element using the options in the right menu.

4. Finalizing the Ballot:

  • Once you're satisfied with your ballot, use the buttons in the top right to Preview the ballot or Save Changes.
  • You can return and edit the ballot at any time if needed.
